What we offer
It seems these days that most businesses have begun incorporating
"green" concepts into their advertising and marketing campaigns. It has
definitely become trendy to pay lip service to the green concept -
regardless of what the underlying business culture truly dictates. But
we think that consumers are now savvy enough to recognize when they are
being sold an empty bill of goods for the sake of appearing to be
ecologically friendly. We call this "green washing".
Our philosophy is different.
We
continually strive to align our personal values with environmentally
responsible business values - in a top down, pervasive and
non-comprimising way. That's what makes us different,
we are
authentically green. And that's why our customers and business partners
stay with us and grow with us - you can feel the difference in every
interaction.
We never stop trying to find bigger and better
green ideas and strategies. We meet regularly with experts from many
fields to to develop new ideas and bring them to our customers.
Our current green initiatives include:
- We use recycled containers, saving steel and avoiding the negative environmental effects of additional manufacturing
- Our
electricity comes from renewable sources and the lighting is controlled
by passive infra-red sensors which automatically turn on and off with
the arrival and departure of customers. This ensures that no lights are
left on unnecessarily
- Where ever possible, we implement roof top gardens and living walls to contribute to air quality as well as the aesthetics of the property
- We offer a unique choice of alternative packing materials
like biodegradable packing peanuts and shredded paper from the office
paper shredder, and items like clean packing boxes are re-used
- We
assist customers with donating or selling discarded items from storage
which allows goods to find a new home, NOT into a dumpster, and then a
landfill
- We offer recruitment and training for local marginalized people and at risk youth
- Employees wear organic cotton and bamboo uniforms and our marketing materials are printed on recycled paper
- A portion of the proceeds from the sale of recycled packing materials is donated to organizations devoted to fostering sustainable lifestyle practices
- We are planning for future partnerships for discarded shipping containers to be used for alternative housing
